  • Outlined my goals this weekend, created a work schedule for the quarter, all ready to dive in on Monday! . Monday rolls around aannnddd my child gets the flu 🤦 . And this is why flexibility and margin matters as a business owner. . Couch snuggles it is. There's always next week, right? 💛
  • Making the most of this season of business to work back through my education and plan thoughtful, scary and yet realistic goals. . I'm highlighting, outlining, and writing action plans and to make sure that unless it's profitable and/or brings me joy, it's not on the business calendar for 2020 💪 . And I'm feeling especially refreshed to kick things into high gear after the incredible meetup yesterday with Canton's Tuesdays Together group 💛 . Networking is so much more than finding referrals. It's making industry friends and gaining a fresh perspective on your business. . I learned just how valuable this is during my time in Oklahoma for @editorscourse. Speaking of... how adorable was this Airbnb @amandahartfield scored for us during our stay in Tulsa! . Leave all the praise hands emojis for making business friends 🙌🙌🙌
  • I spent a large part of my childhood on this farm. I can remember so many days running through those woods and fields yelling "Come boss!" at Grandpa's cows. (They literally never came for us kids, but it's what grandpa yelled, so why not...) . And one of my favorite all-time memories is setting up shop on the side of my grandparents country road selling buckeyes (that most of our neighbors could walk outside and pick up for free) for 50¢ a piece. . So as I drive North today for our Tuesdays Together meeting, I'll do my best to remember my simple and joyful entrepreneur beginnings as I plan exciting things for the days ahead. . Did you have a "lemonade stand" type story when you were a kid?
  • Goals are beautiful, but as we transition out of one year and into another, don't forget to take the time to reflect 💛 let experience be your teacher. . What was your best lesson learned in 2019?
  • I don't work nearly as much as him throughout the winter, so I try to do my part with getting our home/lives back in order after our season of "busy." . Yet there he was this morning, awake before me, taking care of the dogs, bringing wood in, lighting the wood burner. Making sure all is well in our world before leaving for his job for the day. . He enjoys every moment he spends outside and for us, plus he would hate lots of mushy posts 😅 but today I'm just thankful for a man who isn't perfect, but loves us perfectly.
